Short Narrative Experience- Johnny Fishburn and friend Scales return to the original site of Johnny's record Brok Trout catch, on the East Branch of the Fox River in the Upper Peninsula.
"The Moster at the Bridge"- 2nd Visit to the Bridge late Sept. 2024
Johnny and Scaley make their way down stream to the Concrete Bridge for "The Monster" (Sept 2024)
Johnny Fishburn: Scaley I'm going on down. I think the old WPA concrete bridges are right down here-I can hear rushing water. This should be where I caught the Monster a few years ago.
Scales: You go ahead, I hear you ok on the radio. I've got something stealing my worms. This might take awhile.
Brook trout fishermen prize the hidden location of their favorite headwater stream, along with the memory of their favorite sports team, and first automobile. Short Narative....Road Trip Suggestion for the "Adventurious Traveler":
Thinking of a road trip?
I've driven "The Extraterrestrial Highway" (Nevada US 95) 3. times and highly recommend it to you "would-be road trippers." Don't stray off 95 too far on Area 51 property...head all signs! Don't pick up any "Strange Looking Beings" with no hair and a squeeky voice. Allow 2 days to visit all the weird stuff between Vegas and Reno that your friends will roll their eyes at when you try to explain what you witnessed. Take lots of water, food, and spare gas (in proper containers) as this is 500 miles of "nowhere." Don't rush by Hawthorne...there's more there than meets the eye...check out the huge concrete bunkers that…
Touring the iconic Grand Hotel and exploring quaint village life on Mackinac Island are on many roadie's bucket lists, but few venture across the second longest suspension bridge in North America (known as “The Mighty Mac”) to discover the diverse year- around attractions of the Upper Peninsula.
Seasonal Attractions and Friendly Folks
Summer temps rarely exceed 80 degrees making mid-summer road trips inviting, but hardy Winter enthusiasts head north to enjoy everything from “The International 500 Snowmobile Race” to the “Labatt Blue UP Pond Hockey Championship.” With over 16,000 sq miles to explore, each region has activities that pull travelers north throughout the year, but…
